POCATELLO — Freaky, frightening clowns and fantastical family-friendly princesses are coming to town for a pair of jaw dropping circuses at the Mountain View Event Center this week.

Circus on Ice and Circus of Horror are two wildly different events, but both feature incredible displays of skill, artistry and enthralling entertainment.

Beginning at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Mountain View Event Center, fiendish fans of the macabre can explore the twisted, death-defying performances of the Circus of Horror as their terrifying troupe blurs the line between reality and nightmare. The party continues later into the night with an additional show running again at 8:30 p.m. the same evening.

The following day, families can glide into a kid-friendly world of fantasy when Circus on Ice dazzles audiences with stunning acrobatic displays from shimmering princesses and enchanting characters in a captivating story filled with mesmerizing illusions and unforgettable experiences for all ages. The fun begins at 4 p.m. on Thursday with an additional show during the evening starting at 6:30 p.m.

“I thought it would be a fun thing to bring to Pocatello, something unique and neat for our facility,” said Shelton Robinson, the MEC director of operations. “Obviously, we do a lot of tournaments and things like that, so it’s kind of a different type of event that we were able to bring as our schedule is a little bit more available in the summertime. It will appeal to different crowds and give multiple different people the opportunity to come in and have a good time with friends and family and enjoy two very different shows.”
