POCATELLO — NeighborWorks Pocatello will hold its annual meeting and awards ceremony Oct. 28 at the Westside Players Warehouse at 1009 S. 2nd Ave. from 6 to 8 p.m. This is an opportunity to showcase how the organization has helped uplift Pocatello neighborhoods this past year, to report on its 2025 housing-related projects, including several home improvements via a significant grant award from the Federal Home Loan Bank of Des Moines, progress with the Park Meadows Senior Apartments Phase 2 project, the 2025 Historic Home Tour, several city park improvements via facilitation from NWP neighborhood associations and more. It will also be an opportunity to recognize several dedicated volunteers and community partners. The event is sponsored via generous support from The Bank of Commerce.

The venue will be festively decorated with an autumn theme and kick off with a social hour and musical entertainment from Shandi Michelle, food catered by Nel’s Bilo Market and chances for door prizes. A no-host bar will be available. Information will also be provided about the upcoming Avenues for Hope Housing Challenge, which takes place from Dec. 10 to 31.

Emcee for the evening will be Veneta Wellard, NeighborWorks Pocatello board president. Three individuals who were beneficiaries of NWP services will each describe how specific programs have benefited them.

Awards being presented include the Rich Garvin Resident Leadership Award, the Dick Emerson Volunteer of the Year Award and the Business Partner Award. Several homeowners will also be acknowledged for receiving Curb Appeal Awards and Most Improved Awards for their efforts in helping to beautify their neighborhoods.

NeighborWorks Pocatello was established in 1993 and governed by a 16-member board of directors and has a staff of 12. The mission of the organization is a progressive alliance between residents, business and government that revitalizes targeted areas by promoting affordable housing and community pride through the establishment of healthy neighborhoods.
