DUBOIS - A poor night at the free-throw line wound up costing the North Gem boys' basketball team in a 52-49 loss at Clark County on Thursday.

The Cowboys stayed with the Bobcats all night, but ultimately, North Gem's 9-for-18 effort from the foul line did it in.

"It was just a great game," said Cowboys coach Ken Christensen. "Everyone enjoyed it."

At halftime, Clark County led 25-21, and it extended that lead to 42-36 after three quarters.

Austin Wuttke led North Gem with 18 points, while Mitchel Hall added 15. Shawn Banks snared 12 rebounds to go along with his five points.

The Cowboys are now 4-8 on the season and 2-2 in 1A Division II Rocky Mountain Conference play. They'll host league foe Leadore on Saturday.
