TWIN FALLS - Terrance Quenton ripped off a 67-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, and Century's defense snagged four interceptions as the Diamondbacks spoiled homecoming for the Twin Falls with a 14-0 win Friday.

The Bruins' defense largely thwarted the Diamondbacks' ground game and came up with fumble recoveries from Brady Barton and Zak Slotten. But Twin Falls quarterback T.J. Ellis threw four interceptions, and the Bruins failed to score despite two trips to the red zone.

"We didn't get on track at all, just didn't make plays," said Twin Falls coach Allyn Reynolds. "I'm not going to name names, but some guys didn't come to play. I don't usually blame it on kids, but the game plan was there and just didn't make it happen.

"We can't play the game for them, and some key guys didn't get it done and they know who they are."

Century (3-1) got it done early as Quenton ripped off his scoring jaunt on the first play of the Diamondbacks' second possession to provide a 7-0 cushion.

"Our people just blocked amazing and got me the hole that I needed, and I just outran everybody," said Quenton, who rushed for 128 yards on 14 carries.

Backfield mate Rhys Borchert added 83 yards on 23 carries and capped the scoring with a 5-yard plunge with 1:44 left in the game.

But the middle portions of the game featured struggles from both offenses.

"Usually our offense doesn't get shut down like that, but I guess our team wasn't on top of our game the first three quarters," said Quenton.

Barton's fumble recovery set Twin Falls up at Century's 20-yard line in the second quarter, but the Bruins lost 12 yards on their first play and wound up punting.

Josh Settlemoir had a 17-yard reception and a 20-yard run to put the Bruins at the 19 later in the quarter, but the drive ended in a missed field goal.

"It was a disappointing night," said Reynolds, who called Century "a very beatable team."

Ellis finished just 15-of-39 for 121 yards and four picks. Borchert, Emilio Guerrero and Albert Ramirez were among those with interceptions for Century.

Trailing 7-0 late in the game, the Bruins failed to convert on third-and-1 at their own 39-yard line. Ellis sneaked the ball on fourth-and-inches, but a measurement left Twin Falls a few inches short.

Quenton and Borchert ripped off 18-yard runs to set up Borchert's game-sealing score.

"On that last drive," Quenton said, "we were blocking like we usually do and got that touchdown."

Century improved to 3-1 and will travel to Blackfoot next week.
