RANDOLPH - After a pressure defense proved ineffective against a speedy Rich County (Utah) squad, the West Side boys switched to a zone and rallied for a 59-50 road win Friday.

Rich County took advanted of the Pirates' press early and took a 33-26 halftime lead, but West Side's zone defense slowed its opponent down. Early in the fourth quarter, the Pirates managed to take their first lead of the night.

"We came back and played real well," said West Side coach Tyler Brown. "We made some free throws in the fourth quarter to seal out the victory."

Dallas Turnbow and Drew Povey each scored 12 points to lead the Pirates, while Kyler Austin and Josh Roberts both added 11.

West Side is now 2-4 on the season and will play Marsh Valley on Dec. 29 at EnergySolutions Arena in Salt Lake City.
