West Side 34, Grace 0

DAYTON - Even without its top two running backs, West Side cruised to a 34-0 home win over Grace on Friday.

The Dragons (5-2, 1-1 2A Fifth District) sat out Kaden Roberts and Justin Hardy with injuries, but sophomores Mitch Bowles, Ky Austin and Collin Roberts combined for four rushing touchdowns to power West Side to the win.

Bowles led West Side with 122 yards, and he sparked West Side's 22-point barrage in the second quarter with a touchdown. Austin rushed for 29 yards and a score, while Roberts finished with 76 yards and two touchdowns.

"It was an opportunity to get some of our younger players a chance to play," West Side coach Lyle Henderson said.

West Side's quarterback Josh Roberts, who missed a 30-7 loss to Aberdeen three weeks ago with a concussion, continued to sparkle and completed 6-for-8 passes for 101 yards and a touchdown.

Grace fell to 0-6 and 0-2 in district play.
