POCATELLO — NeighborWorks Pocatello has announced that its former executive director, Pocatello Mayor Mark Dahlquist, has been honored with the Richard H. Stallings Lifetime Achievement Award.

Dahlquist received the award at the National NeighborWorks Association Awards Dinner on Thursday, April 24, according to a news release from NeighborWorks Pocatello. The recognition celebrates decades of leadership and impact Dahlquist made in affordable housing and community development.

The Richard H. Stallings Lifetime Achievement Award is one of the highest honors within the NeighborWorks network. It recognizes an executive director or CEO whose career reflects exceptional service, measurable impact and a commitment to strengthening communities.

The award is named after Richard H. Stallings, a former U.S. congressman and advocate for community development who also led NeighborWorks Pocatello.

Dahlquist served as executive director of NeighborWorks Pocatello for about 19 years, guiding the organization through a period of significant growth. During that time, the organization expanded housing opportunities, strengthened neighborhood partnerships and delivered programs that improved the quality of life for residents throughout southeastern Idaho.

The awards dinner was held in conjunction with national NeighborWorks events in Washington, D.C., where leaders from across the country gathered to celebrate excellence in community development and share best practices.

Dahlquist continues his commitment to public service as mayor of Pocatello, and his legacy with NeighborWorks will continue to shape the organization for years to come.
