Zoe Thiros (Century High) — Gonzaga University
Former Century volleyball star Zoe Thiros made her regular-season debut Aug. 30 for the Gonzaga University volleyball team.
The freshman has logged three appearances this season, tallying eight kills with no attacking errors for a team-leading .533 hitting percentage. Seven of those kills came in a 3-0 win Sept. 7 against Montana at the Gonzaga Invitational.
Gonzaga (5-1) plays Sept. 13-14 at the Redhawk Invitational in Seattle.
D’Artagnan Kilgore (Highland High) — Idaho State University
ISU sophomore runner D’Artagnan Kilgore was the Bengals’ top finisher at the Utah Valley Vivint Cross Country Invitational on Aug. 31.
The former Highland standout crossed the tape in 16 minutes, 13.7 seconds, good for sixth place in the three-team meet. Kilgore paced the ISU men’s team to a second-place finish.
The Bengals’ next meet is Sept. 21 in Bozeman, Montana.
Jessica Whiteley (Preston High) — Treasure Valley Community College
Preston High alumnus Jessica Whiteley is among the leaders of this year’s Treasure Valley Community College volleyball team.
The sophomore middle blocker leads the Northwest Athletic Conference with a .420 hitting percentage, measuring 84 kills against 10 errors in 176 attacks. She also has a team-best 32 blocks and ranks second on the team in kills (84) and points (106).
The Chukars (7-5) host the College of Southern Idaho on Wednesday.
