Several people were killed in a series of crashes across Idaho over the weekend, Idaho State Police said.

A Florida man died late Monday on Interstate 84 near Heyburn after he was struck by a pickup truck while walking the wrong way in the westbound lanes.

The crash occurred at 10:29 p.m. near milepost 207 in Minidoka County. The 44-year-old man, from Sebring, Florida, was walking eastbound in the westbound lanes when a white 2013 Ram 2500 struck him. He died at the scene.

The driver, a 22-year-old Jerome woman, and her passenger, a 21-year-old man from Declo, were not injured. Both were wearing seatbelts. Names of those involved have not been released.

The westbound lanes were blocked for about two and a half hours. The reason the man was walking on the interstate was not immediately known, and the crash remains under investigation.

Idaho State Police were assisted by the Minidoka County Sheriff’s Office, Cassia County Sheriff’s Office, Heyburn Police Department, West End QRU, Emergency Run Ambulance and the Idaho Transportation Department.

Idaho State Police are also investigating a single-vehicle fatal crash that occurred at 6:36 p.m. Sunday on E 4800 N near N 800 E, northwest of Buhl in Twin Falls County.

A 39-year-old Buhl man was driving a gold 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 westbound on E 4800 N with three juvenile passengers when the vehicle left the roadway, went off the right shoulder and rolled multiple times.

The driver and one juvenile died at the scene. A second juvenile was flown to a hospital by air ambulance. A third was transported from the scene in a personal vehicle. One juvenile was wearing a seatbelt; the other three occupants were not.

Alcohol and speed are suspected contributing factors, Idaho State Police said. The roadway was blocked for about three hours.

A family of four from Star was traveling through the mountains of Boise County on Saturday when their vehicle went off Arrowrock Road and into the Boise River, killing two.

The crash occurred around 2 p.m. near milepost 19 on Arrowrock Road, north of Atlanta — a small, remote community about 65 miles east of Boise.

The driver, a 35-year-old woman, swerved to avoid another vehicle, bringing her GMC truck too close to the road’s edge. The truck rolled into the river.

The woman and one child escaped the vehicle and were taken by ambulance to a hospital with minor injuries. The passenger, a 38-year-old man, and a second child died at the scene. All four were wearing seatbelts.

Idaho State Police were assisted by the Boise County Sheriff’s Office. The crash remains under investigation.
