Idaho State Police are warning motorists to expect long delays on Interstate 15 southbound from Pocatello to the Utah border on Sunday evening because of wrecks and road construction.

Multiple wrecks were reported on the freeway's southbound lanes Sunday afternoon and evening, with one just south of Pocatello resulting in injuries.

In addition, road construction has reduced Interstate 15 to a single lane in each direction at various points south of Pocatello.

This all adds up to massive traffic congestion when factoring in the large number of Utah travelers who spent their July 4 weekend in Idaho and are now heading home.

Further details on the crashes have not been released.

State police are urging anyone traveling on Interstate 15 southbound Sunday to be patient and expect significantly slowed traffic between Pocatello and the Utah border.
