PROVIDENCE, Utah — The death toll from a Saturday night two-vehicle crash near the Idaho-Utah border increased to two Sunday morning, as a 14-year-old female died in a hospital as a result of injuries suffered in the wreck, authorities said.

The Utah Highway Patrol also revealed Sunday the age and gender of the first fatality — a 17-year-old male who died at the scene of the accident.

The crash occurred on Highway 165 in Providence at approximately 7:09 p.m. Saturday and included 10 total people, with five in each vehicle.

The Utah Highway Patrol said a northbound Toyota Corolla compact car lost control, swerved into the southbound lane and struck a Toyota Sienna minivan before subsequently rolling over. Three of the five occupants of the Corolla were ejected from the car.

Both teens who died were occupants of the Corolla. The wreck left the other three people in the car hospitalized with critical injuries, while all five occupants of the minivan suffered minor injuries, authorities said.

The accident resulted in the complete closure of Highway 165 until late Saturday night.

The names of the deceased and other accident victims have not been released.

The wreck remains under investigation by the Utah Highway Patrol.
