The Pocatello Police Department became aware of a social media post June 14, 2026, regarding allegations of animal abuse involving a dog.

We would first like to thank members of the community for bringing this matter to our attention and for their assistance throughout the investigation. Information provided by the public helped officers identify the pet owner and make contact regarding the reported concerns.

As part of the investigation, the dog has been examined and, at this time, appears to be healthy and does not appear to have any visible injuries. While we are encouraged by the dog's condition, the Pocatello Police Department continues to investigate the allegations and gather information to determine the facts surrounding the incident.

Because this remains an active investigation, no additional details are being released at this time.
