Several people suffered injuries in two wrecks 24 hours apart in the Pocatello area this past weekend.

One of the crashes involved a car hitting a dumpster while the other left a motorcyclist hospitalized.

The car vs. dumpster crash occurred around 11:30 p.m. Sunday at Galena and Alpine avenues in Chubbuck.

Chubbuck police and fire units along with three Pocatello Fire Department ambulances responded to the scene.

Reports were that four people suffered injuries in the crash. Authorities have not yet confirmed how many were treated at the scene and how many were transported to Portneuf Medical Center. The severity of the injuries has also not been provided.

The crash remains under investigation by Chubbuck police who are expected to release further details this week.

The accident involving the motorcyclist occurred 24 hours prior at a busy Pocatello intersection.

The crash happened around 11:30 p.m. Saturday when the motorcyclist collided with a sedan at Yellowstone Avenue and Alameda Road.

Authorities said the adult male motorcyclist suffered injuries in the crash and was rushed via Pocatello Fire Department ambulance to Portneuf Medical Center for treatment.

He’s expected to survive, authorities said.

No one in the car was injured.

Pocatello police are investigating.

Both of the weekend wrecks temporarily shut down the intersections where they occurred.

The names of those involved in the collisions haven’t been released.
