Fallen law enforcement heroes will be recognized May 15 on National Peace Officer Memorial Day in Washington, D.C.

This year’s services will recognize 363 names of fallen heroes killed in the line of duty across the United States who were added to the National Law Enforcement Memorial in the nation's capital.

A public memorial service is held each year in Idaho Falls to honor Idaho's fallen heroes and remember the families left behind. The service will take place at 6 p.m. Friday, May 15 in the Bonneville County Courthouse at 605 N. Capital and is open to the public.

The event begins with the posting of our nation’s colors by local Law Enforcement Honor Guard teams and remarks from Bonneville County Sheriff Sam Hulse and Idaho Falls Police Chief Bryce Johnson, followed by the reading of names of Idaho’s 80 fallen heroes and seven fallen K-9s.
