POCATELLO — A 39-year-old Pocatello man is facing a felony drug charge.

Michael S. Vaughn has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, methamphetamine, according to Bannock County Magistrate Court records. A hearing that will determine if there is enough evidence to take the case to trial has been set for May 8.

Pocatello police say an officer made contact with Vaughn while checking on a suspicious vehicle parked near a business on the 700 block of Yellowstone Avenue around 3 a.m. Wednesday.

Vaughn was wanted on a drug-related warrant, police said, adding that the officer took him into custody.

A K-9 later alerted on the vehicle, and officers found a bindle of methamphetamine inside, police said. Vaughn was subsequently charged with possession of a controlled substance.
