Community generosity during the 2025 Christmas season will translate into real help for local charities when the Light the World Giving Machines campaign presents checks to 16 nonprofit organizations across East Idaho.

At three events — in Pocatello, Idaho Falls and Rexburg — organizers will announce total contributions raised through the campaign and distribute checks to the nonprofits.

The Giving Machines operate similarly to reverse vending machines, allowing donors to contribute items such as meals, clothing, hygiene supplies, school materials and livestock with a simple purchase at a stationary kiosk.

The first check presentation will be held at noon March 30 at the atrium at Hemming Village in Rexburg.

The Pocatello presentation follows at 11 a.m. March 31 at ICCU Headquarters, Idaho Room, 4400 Central Way, Chubbuck.

The final presentation will be held at noon April 2 at the Brickyard Event Center, Ammon Road, Ammon.

Organizers encourage attendees to RSVP in advance. A light lunch will be provided. The events will also give attendees a chance to speak with nonprofit leaders and community volunteers about the local impact of the donations.

During the 48-day campaign, which ran Nov. 15 through Jan. 1, more than 95,000 participants visited the machines and donated 78,000 items across Pocatello, Idaho Falls and Rexburg.
