ITD selfe-serve kiosks

Self-serve vehicle registration renewal kiosks will debut in the coming weeks at multiple locations in the Treasure Valley.

Idaho drivers renewing their vehicle registration will soon have a new option that aims to make the process more convenient.

The Idaho Transportation Department on Monday announced that self-service kiosks will facilitate registration renewals at grocery stores. The phased launch will begin “over the next several weeks,” according to ITD.

“These machines provide customers with a quick and easy experience for select transactions, specifically vehicle registration renewals,” an ITD release states. “At launch, customers can renew their standard vehicle registration. Updates to personal or vehicle information are not yet included.”

The following sites will be the first to feature the self-service kiosks and will be located inside Albertsons and Fred Meyer stores:

  • Albertsons: 3614 W. State St., Boise
  • Fred Meyer: 3527 S. Federal Way, Boise
  • Fred Meyer: 1850 E. Fairview Ave., Meridian
  • Fred Meyer: 5230 W. Franklin St., Boise
  • Fred Meyer: 1400 W. Chinden Blvd., Meridian

Within a month of the first five self-service kiosks being unveiled, four more will come online across the state:

  • Albertsons: 2400 12th Ave. Road, Nampa
  • Fred Meyer: 1555 Northgate Mile, Idaho Falls
  • Fred Meyer: 800 Yellowstone Ave., Pocatello
  • Smith’s: 1913 Addison Ave. E., Twin Falls

An additional self-service kiosk is planned for the Coeur d’Alene area, with the final location to be announced soon, ITD said, adding that more locations and features are planned as the rollout continues.

A vendor service charge will apply for use of the kiosk as well as a standard credit card fee.
