IDAHO FALLS — Firefighters saved a home from a fast-moving brush fire that damaged vehicles, outbuildings and fencing near West Broadway Street and Trolley Way Saturday afternoon.

The fire started as a brush fire around 1:33 p.m. and moved quickly, soon spreading to multiple vehicles, outbuildings, fencing and trees.

The flames threatened a manufactured home but Idaho Falls firefighters acted quickly to save the structure after the fire had spread to its exterior.

It took minutes for firefighters to gain the upper hand on the blaze but the flames still damaged a 2016 Honda Civic, a motorhome, multiple trailers, a boat on a trailer, a garden shed, a maintenance truck, roughly 200 feet of cedar fencing and two snowmobiles on a trailer, the Idaho Falls Fire Department reported.

The manufactured home sustained exterior damage, but firefighters stopped the fire before it reached the interior, limiting the damage to the rear of the structure and its siding. Damage to the home is estimated at about $10,000, authorities said.

Firefighters remained on the scene making sure the fire was out until shortly before 3 p.m.

There were no injuries and the cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
