POCATELLO — The upcoming family fun center Extreme Rush is reaching its final stages of construction and is expected to be open in March or April of this year.

Sidney Davis, one of the owners of the upcoming center located at 1000 Pocatello Creek Road, said all the mechanical and electrical work has been completed and all the framing in the building is finished.

“We’re waiting for fire sprinklers,” Davis said. “Then we’re going to start sheetrocking.”

Once all that work is completed, Davis and his co-owner Jason Hebdon will just need to get their certificate of occupancy to show that the building complies with all building codes and zoning laws.

“We’re shooting for March or April,” Davis said about when Extreme Rush will open. “We’ll be doing a phased opening.”

Extreme Rush will offer a plethora of family fun activities, ranging from go-karts to an arcade to laser tag and more. The venue will even feature rooms to hold parties and will eventually have a full menu of food.

Davis said some of the equipment going in Extreme Rush’s kitchen won’t arrive until June or July, so Extreme Rush will initially open without a kitchen, but everything else will be ready by spring.

“We’re getting really close,” Davis said. “Everyone’s ready for us to be open yesterday, but we’re making sure we do it the right way. We’re making sure we give a good experience right out the gate.”

Davis said the community is excited about Extreme Rush. There has been positive feedback on social media. They also have seen several people peeking inside the building to see if it’s complete.

“We’ve had a ton of conversations,” Davis said. “There’s a ton of buzz. Everyone’s excited.”

The owners of Extreme Rush have also been reaching out to local business owners about possible sponsorships. Davis said most of the equipment in Extreme Rush comes from local businesses.

“We have specialty items that we’re bringing in from around the globe, but for everything else we’re utilizing local people,” Davis said.

Davis looks forward to opening Extreme Rush because it’s a dream he and Hebdon have been wanting to do for the past three years. He can’t wait to make that dream a reality for others to enjoy.

“We’re looking forward to seeing it come to life and seeing the smiles on everyone’s faces,” Davis said.
