The Democratic nominees for Idaho governor and Idaho superintendent of public instruction will hold a meet-and-greet event Saturday at Russell A. Freeman Park in Idaho Falls.

Terri Pickens won the Democratic primary for governor May 19.

Becky Sundin Mitchell ran uncontested in the Democratic primary for state superintendent.

Pickens and Mitchell will be in the park at 1290 Science Center Drive from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.

Pickens is a Boise-based trial attorney, small business owner and former Republican. She will face incumbent Republican Gov. Brad Little, independent John Stegner and Libertarian Paul Sand in the general election Nov. 3.

Pocatello-area residents can visit with Pickens from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 10, in the Bison Room of the Yellowstone Restaurant at 230 W. Bonneville St. in Pocatello.

Mitchell opposes Republican incumbent Debbie Critchfield and Constitution Party candidate Teresa Roundy in November.

Formerly registered as a Republican, Mitchell switched her affiliation to the Democratic Party after the November 2020 election due to frustrations with how GOP leadership spoke about public school educators.
