POCATELLO - One man was arrested and a woman transported to Portneuf Medical Center following two separate accidents this weekend on Philbin Road.

Sgt. Jeff Young, of the Bannock County Sheriff's Office, said a male juvenile was cited for failing to stop Sunday after he ran a stop sign at the intersection of Philbin and Tyhee roads.

Young said the juvenile was northbound on Philbin when he failed to stop and was struck by a vehicle traveling eastbound on Tyhee Road. The female driver of the eastbound car was transported to PMC with minor injuries. Her name was not released.

On Saturday, MacArthur Blueback, 45, of Fort Hall, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence after he crashed into a power pole at Philbin Road and Highway 30.

According to police reports, Blueback was traveling west on Highway 30 and attempted to turn on to Philbin Road, but failed to negotiate the right-hand turn.

Blueback slid into the embankment, hitting the power pole. He was not injured in the accident, which happened at about 8:30 p.m.
