Mayor Brian Blad invites citizens to join him this Tuesday, March 5, 2013 for “Calling City Hall,” the Mayor’s monthly call-in program. The show will begin at 6:30 p.m. and is aired live on Government Access Television, Channel 11. Mayor Blad’s guests this month will be Council President Roger Bray; Hannah Sanger, Environmental Coordinator; and Greg Allbright, FORE Golf Concessionaire.

The program will start with Ms. Sanger who will discuss the COMPOST HAPPENS! yard waste only composting pilot program. The purpose of the program is to evaluate the demand and cost effectiveness of providing Pocatello residents with a curbside pick-up for yard waste. COMPOST HAPPENS! will run during this year’s growing and leaf season, which is approximately April 1, 2013 to November 30, 2013. The program is completely voluntary, but will cost participants $5 per month.

During the second half of the program, the Mayor will be joined by Greg Allbright with FORE Golf. He will outline activities planned for the 2013 golf season and discuss improvements at the City’s two golf courses. Future long range goals for the City’s golf courses will also be discussed.

“Calling City Hall” is shown live the first Tuesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. The program helps citizens learn more about city government and community issues, while providing an opportunity to call in with any questions, suggestions, or concerns they may have.
