FORT HALL — The driver of a car was taken into police custody on suspicion of DUI after colliding head-on with a semi while traveling the wrong way on Interstate 15 south of Fort Hall, Idaho State Police said.

The crash between a 2014 Buick Regal and semi occurred around 12:01 a.m. Friday on the freeway's southbound lanes.

The adult male driver of the Buick suffered minor injuries in the head-on collision, authorities said. He was taken into custody at the scene by Idaho State Police on suspicion of DUI following the crash.

The semi's driver was not injured in the collision.

The wreck did not result in the freeway's closure, though there was some partial blockage in the southbound lanes.

The names of the drivers involved in the crash haven't been released.

The accident remains under investigation by state police.
