NAMPA — The parents of a 12-day-old infant have been arrested following the discovery of their baby’s death.

According to a Nampa Police Department news release, Brian Allen Lemke, 31, and Allysen Raider Armenta, 28, both of Nampa, were arrested Monday on three felony charges: injury to a child, destroying evidence and failure to notify of a death. They also face misdemeanor charges of resisting and obstructing justice.

The infant’s death was discovered on Dec. 16. Police received a call at 3:32 a.m. notifying them of a possible infant death at a residence on the 300 block of Lone Star Road.

When police arrived, Lemke was still on the scene and told officers that Armenta had left. However, officers found Armenta hiding in a trailer in the backyard, and she was taken into custody on “an unrelated out-of-county warrant,” according to NPD.

The investigation found that the infant had died at a different location before being moved inside the house.

Armenta and Lemke have both previously been found guilty on misdemeanor charges for injury of a child. The pair were found guilty of three counts of the crime in 2019 in Ada County, and one count of injury to a child in 2022 in Boise County.

A cause of death has yet to be determined pending an autopsy. The case remains under ongoing investigation with NPD Detective Mason Foster receiving tips at 208-565-5174.
