Listed alphabetically by last name are the seven community members - and some brief information about them - appointed by the Bannock County commissioners to be the board of directors for the Portneuf Health Care Foundation as owners of the Community Benefit Organization should voters approve the deal between the county and Legacy Hospital Partners on Nov. 4.

- Mark Buckalew - Branch manager and vice president of A.G. Edwards, a division of Wachovia Securities in Pocatello. Buckalew is a past president of the Greater Pocatello Chamber of Commerce and the Pocatello Rotary Club, and a former board member of the Ifft Foundation. He was appointed earlier this year to the board of directors for the Eastern Region of the Idaho Community Foundation. Buckalew is currently vice-chairman of the Portneuf Medical Center Board of Governors, and was a member of PMC's Citizen's Panel.

- Tom Dial - A former Sixth District Magistrate Judge and recently retired attorney who was a partner in Dial, May & Rammell in Pocatello. He has served in numerous legal organizations, including as president of the Sixth District Bar Association in 1976, an Idaho delegate to the U.S. Commission on Criminal Justice in 1971, and co-chairman of the Supreme Court Children and Families in the Courts Committee from 2001 to 2008.

- Dr. Sandra Hoffman - Director of internal medicine at Idaho State University's Department of Family Medicine and a doctor of internal medicine at Portneuf Medical Center. Hoffman has practiced for 20 years and joined ISU five years ago. She was recently named to the board of trustees for the American College of Sports Medicine, which boasts more than 20,000 members throughout the world.

- Bill McKee - Owner of McKee's Pet and Garden Centers in Chubbuck and Pocatello. McKee is also a licensed counselor who operates a counseling center with 14 counselors. He is a past president of the Portneuf Valley Interfaith Fellowship. McKee was a local Stake President for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for 10 years ending in 2007.

- Nancy Renn - Assistant director for undergraduate studies at Idaho State University's School of Nursing, where she has worked since 1997 as a faculty member and for the past year in her current position. Renn graduated ISU in 1980 with a nursing degree. She worked at the former Bannock Regional Medical Center in the mid-1980s before moving to the Southeastern District Health Department where she was director of Physical Health Services for more than 10 years. She has been on the board of directors for Aid For Friends for several years and on the Board of Governors for Portneuf Medical Center for the past year. Renn was also a member of the Portneuf Medical Center Citizen's Panel.

- Dave Swindell - Chief financial officer for the City of Pocatello. Swindell served 22 years in the U.S. Army, retiring as a lieutenant colonel. He has been on the Portneuf Medical Center Board of Governors for the past year.

- Stephen Weeg - Executive director of Health West in Pocatello for past four years. Weeg has been health care and human service work for 35 years, including eight years as a health care consultant and the top official at a state hospital in Blackfoot for four years. He was also the regional director of the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare in Pocatello. Weeg is currently on the Governor's Select Committee on Health Care and on Idaho's Health Quality Planning Commission. He has recently been appointed to the board of the Idaho Health Data Exchange.
