POCATELLO — The Pocatello-Chubbuck Chamber of Commerce is celebrating 125 years of supporting community growth and economic development.

To recognize the milestone, the organization will host several events throughout 2026 and feature stories about some of its oldest members monthly, said Matt Hunter, CEO of the chamber.

“We’re working on the first one now,” Hunter said. “It will be in our newsletter and on social media.”

The chamber has issued a challenge to members and the community to walk 125 miles per month for the next 12 months.

“I’ve already signed up to participate in that,” Hunter said.

The chamber will hold at least one joint event with Idaho State University in September, though details have not been finalized. ISU is also celebrating its 125th anniversary this year.

“It’s also ISU’s 125th anniversary,” Hunter said. “We’ll both be celebrating together.”

Throughout the year, the chamber will collect items for a time capsule to be opened in 25 years. The capsule will include event flyers and other materials documenting community happenings.

“We want information about the community,” Hunter said. “We’ll have stuff from ISU. I don’t know how big it’s going to be. We’ll see what we can fit into it.”

Hunter said reaching this milestone is significant for the organization. The chamber’s founders played key roles in building ISU and promoting economic growth in the area.

“I’m proud of this chamber and the work it’s done in the community,” Hunter said. “We have a long history of being a part of and celebrating the community.”

Hunter encouraged community members to participate in the anniversary celebrations.

“We encourage the community to get involved in celebrating 125 years,” Hunter said.
