IDAHO FALLS - Giving up a 95-yard touchdown run early in the first quarter didn't come back to hurt the Highland football team on Friday.

The Rams showed plenty of offense themselves and went on to win 38-28.

Highland rallied quickly to go ahead 14-7 by the end of the first quarter and 28-14 by the end of the half, but Idaho Falls came right back to tie the score at 28-28. But the Rams held the Tigers from there and scored 10 more points to put away the game.

Coach Gino Mariani said wide receiver Jace Hansen, who caught two touchdowns, played his best game of the year, and the Rams' offensive line was strong, too.

"The offensive line was tremendous tonight," he said. "They just kept at it and gave Taysom (Hill) all kinds of time to throw and run."

Highland is now 4-2 overall and 2-0 in 5A District 4, 5, 6 play. Considering that each of the Rams' district victories have come on the road, coach Gino Mariani said he was more than pleased with what his team has accomplished so far.

"It's big for us to win two on the road," he said. "Last year we split on the road, and that got us into a Kansas City Playoff. This will give us a lot of confidence heading into our last two district games at home."

But three big games remain. Before finishing off district play, Highland must play undefeated 4A Pocatello in the Black and Blue Bowl next week.

"It's a big game, and it' s a fun game," he said. "It's a rivalry game that's always exciting for the town."
