IDAHO FALLS — The Walk For Wishes East Idaho presented by Blue Cross of Idaho will be held on Saturday. Registration starts at 9 a.m. with the walk kicking off at 10 a.m. sharp. This year’s walk will be held at Russ Freeman Park at 1290 Science Center Drive in Idaho Falls. The route is approximately 1 mile in length and appropriate for all ages, paces and fitness levels.

Before the walk begins, 12-year-old Maysa, an East Idaho wish kid who wished to go to Hawaii, will talk about her struggle with her respiratory disorder and her trip. Additionally, East Idaho wish mom Melissa will speak about her son Seth’s wish to go to Disney World and his battle with leukemia.

Walkers can sign up today as a sponsor, walk team or volunteer. There is no registration fee; though Make-A-Wish Idaho asks teams to raise $100 or more to help grant wishes for Idaho wish kids. Walkers can sign up at idaho.wish.org.

Make-A-Wish Idaho is on track to grant 140 wishes during its current fiscal year, the greatest number of wishes granted by the Idaho chapter in a single year, surpassing even last year’s record-breaking number of 127. Participant financial support ensures those wishes are granted in a timely and meaningful way and helps the chapter keep up with Idaho’s population growth.
