POCATELLO — The Idaho State-Civic Symphony presents Heroic Aspirations, an evening of powerful and uplifting music, Feb. 21 at 7:30 p.m. in the Jensen Grand Concert Hall at Idaho State University's Stephens Performing Arts Center.

The program features "Beethoven's Symphony No. 3, 'Eroica'," a revolutionary masterpiece that redefined symphonic music with its bold vision, emotional depth and heroic spirit. ISCS Artistic Director Nell Flanders said: "Beethoven's Eroica Symphony is a monumental work that profoundly addresses the struggles and triumphs of the human condition. It speaks to us with as much power and urgency today as it did 200 years ago. I am thrilled to present it alongside works by Sibelius and Gordeli that feature our next generation of musicians — ISU Concerto Competition winner Cortnie Hulse and members of the ISCS Youth Chamber Orchestra."

Flutist Cortnie Hulse, winner of the ISU Concerto Competition, will perform Gordeli's Flute Concerto, a dazzling and expressive work that highlights the flute's brilliance and agility. To start the evening, members of the ISCS Youth Chamber Orchestra will join the Symphony side-by-side for a performance of Sibelius's "Finlandia" — a work that has become a powerful symbol of resilience and Finnish national pride.

Annual raffle — incredible prize baskets

Throughout the evening, the Symphony's annual raffle will offer attendees the chance to win themed prize baskets featuring season tickets for the 2025-2026 symphony season, fine dining experiences, family-friendly activities, outdoor adventures, luxury gift packages and more. Raffle tickets are $2 each or $10 for six tickets, and winners will be drawn following intermission. Attendees do not need to be present to win.

For those looking for an extra-special prize, the Symphony is offering a limited-ticket drawing for a pair of tickets to Broadway's touring production of "Wicked" in Salt Lake City — one of the most beloved musicals of all time. Only 200 tickets will be sold at $25 each, giving participants an exclusive opportunity to win while supporting the Symphony.
