POCATELLO — The Idaho State-Civic Symphony will host two silent auction opportunities in March to help raise funds for the ISCS Music Scholarship Fund. Attendees can bid on painted violins created by local artists.
The first silent auction will be held on Friday during Pocatello’s First Friday Art Walk from 4 to 7 p.m. in Station Square, 200 S. Main St. in Old Town Pocatello.
The second opportunity will be held March 15 at the symphony’s Pops Concert with Acoustic Eidolon. The silent auction and performance will be held at Idaho State University’s Stephens Performing Arts Center and bidding is open before the 7:30 p.m. concert.
Bidding is done in $10 increments and the winning bids will be announced at the symphony’s performance on March 15. You do not need to be present to win.
Fifteen local artists participated in the project. Some of the artists include Patricia Bingham, a medical editor; Kathryn Chojnacki, Pocatello/Chubbuck School District’s orchestra director; and Rebekah D Cote, a deposit services manager for Idaho Central Credit Union.
Over the past 10 years the ISCS has awarded over $100,000 in music scholarships to ISU students.
