FORT HALL — The Shoshone-Bannock Tribes on Tuesday released the names of those involved in two separate fatal incidents on the Fort Hall Reservation over the weekend — a vehicle crash that killed a juvenile and a shooting that left a man dead.

In the first incident, Fort Hall Police Department identified Kennion Martin of Fort Hall as the driver in a fatal single-vehicle crash that occurred at 2:45 p.m. Saturday, June 13, in the area of the monument in the Fort Hall Bottoms. Martin was transported by air ambulance for medical treatment. A juvenile male passenger sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the juvenile is not being released, according to the Tribes.

Alcohol intoxication may have been a contributing factor in the crash, police said. Idaho State Police were called to assist the Fort Hall Police Department with crash reconstruction and investigation. The incident remains under investigation.

Less than 12 hours later, Fort Hall police responded to a fatal shooting at a residence in the Nagitsy Road area south of Blackfoot. Dispatch received the call at approximately 2:07 a.m. Sunday, June 14. Responding officers located Jordan Denny of Box Elder, Montana, deceased at the scene.

Didier Tendoy of Blackfoot has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting. The Fort Hall Police Department and the FBI are investigating the incident as a possible homicide. Fort Hall Police Chief Patrick Teton said there is no known danger to the public.

When reached for comment Monday, a spokesperson for the FBI declined to comment, referring all questions to the Shoshone-Bannock Tribes.

The Fort Hall Business Council and the Fort Hall Police Department extended condolences to the families and loved ones of those killed in both incidents.
