POCATELLO — The first-ever Gateway Habitat for Humanity Cornhole Tournament will take place Saturday at the Mountain View Event Center, 1567 Way to Grace in Pocatello.

Check-in is at 9 a.m., and the bags fly starting at 10 a.m. There are three divisions — competitive, intermediate and novice — and there are cash prizes for the winners of each division. Cost to play is $25 per person.

BJ Fillingame, vice president of marketing for Lookout Credit Union, said that the Boys & Girls Club for the Portneuf Valley asked the CEO of Lookout if they could be involved in the tournament that aims to raise funds for affordable housing.

“Lookout felt it was important that we jump in and help out and get some funding for them and play some corn hole and at the same time support a good cause,” he said.

He said that they encourage people to come out and play corn hole.

Fillingame wanted to thank Habitat for Humanity for its role in bringing people together and working toward providing housing and creating hope.
