Pole position for 3A District 5 title is on the line Friday. Snake River (3-2) heads south to play Marsh Valley (2-3) for a game that could very well decide who makes the state tournamrnt.

FIRST QUARTER

Snake River fumbles on the first play of the game and Marsh Valley takes over on the SR 35.

MARSH VALLEY 7, SNAKE RIVER 0, 6:26 -- Marsh Valley had a rough time moving the ball from the 35, but eventually got in the end zone on a 5-yard TD run from Michael Belnap.

SECOND QUARTER

Snake River QB Cole Gilbert intercepted by Marsh Valley senior defensive back Payton Howe, who recorded three picks last week against South Fremont.

The Eagles have the ball at the 50 with just over 5 minutes to play in the half.

MARSH VALLEY 14, SNAKE RIVER 0, 1:13 -- Marsh Valley again capitalizes on a Snake River turnover. The Panthers fumbled a punt, which put the Eagles in the red zone. A few plays later, QB Hunter Roche ran the ball in from 3 yards out.

HALFTIME: MARSH VALLEY 14, SNAKE RIVER 0

THIRD QUARTER

MARSH VALLEY 20, SNAKE RIVER 0, 10:14 -- On the first drive of the second half, Marsh Valley QB Hunter Roche ran around the right edge and bolted to the end zone for a 67-yard TD.

MARSH VALLEY 26, SNAKE RIVER 0, 6:44 -- After the third Snake River fumble of the night, Marsh Valley RB Michael Belnap scored his second rushing TD of the game, this time from 12 yards out.

MARSH VALLEY 26, SNAKE RIVER 7, 0:45 -- After an interception by by Rylan Anderson, Snake River was set up in good field position and finally got on the scoreboard. Carson Hawker ran into the end zone from 8 yards out.

FOURTH QUARTER

FINAL: MARSH VALLEY 26, SNAKE RIVER 0.

Both teams are now 3-3.
