The two former Idaho State football players who earned NFL opportunities remain on teams’ radars.

Former Bengals offensive lineman Brian Fineanganofo and former ISU running back James Madison both participated in the Cleveland Browns’ rookie minicamp last weekend — Fineanganofo as an undrafted free agent signee and Madison as an unsigned camp invitee.

Fineanganofo has been added to Cleveland’s 90-man roster and will remain with the team through its upcoming offseason workouts. Next up for the Browns is organized team activities (OTAs) through the end of May and mandatory minicamp June 4-6. NFL teams must reduce their rosters to 53 players by August 31.

Madison was not signed by the Browns after his minicamp tryout, but told the Journal on Wednesday that he was invited to the New Orleans Saints’ rookie minicamp from May 10-12. No NFL teams hold a rookie minicamp after May 12, meaning Madison’s upcoming tryout is his best opportunity to get signed by an NFL team this offseason.
