Olympic gold medalist and two-time world champion Lara Gut-Behrami has announced her retirement from Alpine skiing. She initially planned to retire at the end of last season but was sidelined by a severe knee injury in November. Gut-Behrami missed the chance to defend her Olympic title in super-G at Cortina d’Ampezzo in February. Despite past injuries, she says she feels fortunate to retire without recurring pain. Gut-Behrami also has 48 World Cup victories and won the World Cup overall twice.
