A 24-year-old Victor woman was killed and three other motorists were transported by ambulance to an Idaho Falls hospital Monday afternoon following a head-on collision at the Pine Creek Pass of State Highway 31, Idaho State Police said.

Police said Nevada J. Chavez, of Victor, died at the scene. Police said she was not wearing a seat belt.

Police said she was driving a 1997 Subaru Legacy Wagon, heading northbound, and failed to negotiate a turn. Police said her car collided head-on with a 2018 BMW X5, driven by Seed Z. Yasrobi, 64, of Jackson, Wyo.

Police said Yasrobi and his passengers — Brenda K. Younkin, 45, and a juvenile — were transported to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls. Police said they were all wearing seat belts.

Police said Highway 31 was blocked for five hours.

This crash is under investigation by state police, with assistance from the Idaho Transportation Department, the Teton County Sheriff’s Office and the Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office.

Chavez was a former employee at Victor Valley Market.
