The largest pantless party and run for charity is happening in Boise from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 21 at Tom Grainey’s Sporting Pub.

Cupid’s Undie Run is an annual event where people across the country gather to race to support those affected by neurofibromatosis (NF) — a group of genetic conditions that cause tumors to grow on nerves throughout the body. The event will also take place in 31 other cities across the U.S.

Boise’s Cupid Undie Run kicks off with day drinking and dancing at the pub before heading to the streets for a “mile(ish) run” downtown, ending with a dance party. The run begins at 2 p.m.

“Cupid’s Undie Run in Boise not only raises crucial funds for research, but also builds visibility, connection, and hope for families right here in the Treasure Valley,” Boise race director Jenny Jensen said.

NF impacts everyone differently and can lead to blindness, deafness, bone abnormalities, disfigurement, learning challenges, chronic pain or cancer. The condition can be visible, showing up as bumps on the skin, which is why participants run in their underwear — to show nothing will stop the community from finding a cure.

Registration is $45, but attendees are encouraged to fundraise online by creating a personal page and using social media to draw donations. Boise’s fundraising goal is $45,000; at the time of publication, teams have raised nearly $33,000.

Last year’s event had over 200 participants and exceeded its $30,000 goal, raising more than $42,000, according to media spokesperson Caitlin Kizielewicz. 

Proceeds benefit the Children’s Tumor Foundation, a leader in NF research that has achieved major milestones, including the first two FDA-approved drugs for NF and other promising treatments in advanced stages of development. There is currently no cure for NF.

“Cupid’s Undie Run is pure fun with so much heart. I know what it’s like to face the challenges of NF, and seeing this community show up laughing, running, dancing and yes, freezing - to make a difference - is amazing,” said Alexandra Norton, 2026 Children’s Tumor Foundation National Ambassador who lives with NF.

“The energy, the joy, the sheer ridiculousness of it all - you leave knowing you were part of something unforgettable, and that all that fun is actually fueling real progress."

The national organization began in 2010, and the event launched in Boise in 2014. Since it began, Cupid’s Undie Run has raised more than $25 million for NF research.
