Rocky Mountain Power is reporting that a large scale power outage has occurred in Caribou, Franklin and Bannock counties.

The utility reports that nearly 4,200 customers in those counties are without power, and electricity won't be restored until 1:30 a.m. Sunday. The outage began around 9 p.m. Saturday.

Rocky Mountain Power reports that its crews are working to restore electricity. The utility is describing the cause of the outage as a "transmission interruption" but has provided no further details.

It appears that most if not all of Caribou County is without electricity. All of Soda Springs and Grace are without power.

Thatcher and other northern Franklin County areas are also experiencing a blackout. In Bannock County, the Lava Hot Springs and McCammon areas are without power as well.
