PRESTON — A Preston man died Tuesday after a pickup truck struck him while he crossed State Street on a mobility scooter on Feb. 28, Idaho State Police said.

Franklin County Deputy Coroner Jordan Webb identified the man as Terry Wayne Traynor, 67. Idaho State Police on Tuesday said Traynor succumbed to his injuries.

The crash occurred around 3:44 p.m. near the intersection of South State Street and West First Street, state police said.

A 62-year-old Nibley, Utah, man driving a 2003 pickup truck southbound on State Street struck Traynor as he crossed the street in a crosswalk, according to state police. A ground ambulance transported Traynor to a local hospital.

The southbound lane of State Street was blocked for roughly three hours following the collision.

State police — assisted by the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, Preston Police Department and Franklin County Fire District EMS — continue to investigate.
