An 18-year-old from Blackfoot who was the subject of a statewide Endangered Missing Person Alert has been found dead, authorities said.

Joseph Haight was found deceased along with his Ford pickup truck on Friday afternoon in Bonneville County, according to the Blackfoot Police Department. The Bonneville County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the circumstances surrounding his death.

Haight’s next of kin have been notified. Police said there is no public risk related to the incident.

The teenager was last seen leaving his workplace within Blackfoot city limits around 7 p.m. Wednesday. He was reported missing Friday morning, prompting Idaho State Police to issue an Endangered Missing Person Alert due to concerns about his health.

Haight required daily medication that he did not have in his possession and missing those doses could have resulted in serious health complications, police said.

The Blackfoot Police Department thanked the public and media for their assistance during the search.

“Your support and efforts were greatly appreciated during this investigation,” the Police Department said in a statement.
