POCATELLO — The Gate City will be home to a new Chipotle in 2026.

Officials close to the project said the popular chain restaurant is currently being built in the vacant lot next to the WinCo supermarket at East Alameda Road and Yellowstone Avenue.

Ground was broken for the Chipotle about three weeks ago and work began on the building itself last week.

Officials said the Pocatello Chipotle will open by this summer.

The Pocatello Chipotle will be in its own stand-alone building on the lot.

It’s been several years since Chipotle called the Gate City Home and city officials are excited about the restaurant chain’s return.

There are currently Chipotle restaurants in both Idaho Falls and Rexburg.

Chipitle corporate culture remains un- changed. They are coming and going. I'm guessing in a couple years or so, the new location in Pocatello will be declared (again) to be "under performing" by the Chipotle corporate wizards and closed (for good). lol
