BLACKFOOT — Blackfoot officials have released some additional information about the land they purchased this month for future expansion of the Wastewater Treatment Plant. They say there has been some confusion about their plans for the property, so they wanted to clarify them for the public.

Officials say the owner did not want to subdivide the property prior to the sale. That’s why they decided to buy all of the land that included approximately 20 acres, a home and some outbuildings. They paid $795,000 for the property on January 3.

However, they only plan to keep about eight acres, which are immediately adjacent to the Wastewater Treatment Plant, officials said. The rest of the land and buildings will be resold.

“Harper-Leavitt Engineering is currently working on the Legal description for the parcel that will be subdivided,” according to a news release. “Once that is completed, the City will proceed to resell.”
