The congressional voting districts for the midterm elections finally are settled — roughly 440 days after President Donald Trump spurred a rare mid-decade redistricting battle. A total of nine states are using different U.S. House districts than they did in 2024. But that tally was not settled until the U.S. Supreme Court ruled late last week that Missouri cannot use new districts backed by Trump. Roughly one in 10 potential voters nationwide are in new congressional districts this year as a result of the remapping. More states are looking at redistricting before the 2028 presidential elections.
