Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil is suing Columbia University, alleging it failed to address harassment against him and other members of a pro-Palestinian campus group. The suit filed Monday in federal court in New York City says the university's deliberate indifference led to the doxing of multiple group members and Khalil’s detention by immigration agents. The university said it is committed to protecting the campus community from discrimination and harassment but declined to comment on the lawsuit. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers arrested Khalil in March 2025. He quickly became the face of the Trump administration's crackdown on pro-Palestinian demonstrators.
