Thursday-Sunday, April 30-May 3The Pocatello Film Society will host 25th anniversary screenings of “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy. “The Fellowship of the Ring” will be shown at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 30, and Friday, May 1, followed by “The Two Towers” at 2 and 6 p.m. Saturday, May 2, and “The Return of the King” at 2 and 6 p.m. Sunday, May 3. Friday’s kickoff includes a patriotic opening, free baked potatoes for the first 50 attendees and a lineup of “Redneck Games,” while Saturday begins with a kids bike and walking parade followed by a full day of activities including a petting zoo, inflatable carnival (wristbands available for purchase), RC car races, a pet show, Power Wheels races and a watermelon eating contest. Free live stage performances, contests and activities for all ages run throughout both days.
The Westside Players will present a musical romp through Charles Dickens’ last, unfinished tale, “The Mystery of Edwin Drood” Friday and Saturday, May 1-2, at The Warehouse, 1009 S.
