POCATELLO — The Pocatello/Chubbuck School District 25 Board of Trustees held its January meeting, electing officers for the year and conducting its annual reorganization.
The board elected Raymond Knoff to be board chair, according to a news release from the school district. Deanna Judy was elected as vice chair, Megan Furniss is assistant treasurer, Heather Clarke is assistant clerk and Jim Facer is a member.
The board also approved committee assignments for 2026. The calendar committee will be handled by Clarke and Furniss. The CIP/Long Range Planning Committee will be led by Knoff and Judy. Knoff and Furniss will handle the District Curriculum Committee, and Knoff and Judy will handle the Textbook Adoption Committee.
Knoff was elected to the Board of Trustees in 2023. As board chair, he plans to focus on fiscal responsibility and long-range budgeting with careful consideration for the state’s budget shortfall.
Other priorities for Knoff are addressing the impact of federal and state unfunded mandates, especially for special education, and guiding discussion around the role artificial intelligence will play in education.
Knoff has a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Education in Technology Education from the University of Idaho. He served for 10 years as a district technology coordinator in Oregon.
Knoff also has experience as a teacher. He taught at Blue Mountain Community College in Hermiston, Oregon, and he was an instructor for Idaho S.T.A.R. Motorcycle Rider Safety.
