Idaho State University visiting writer Laura Chow Reeve, author of the acclaimed short fiction collection, A Small Apocalypse, will read from her work and hold a question and answer session this Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Valentine Ballroom at 100 S. Arthur in Pocatello. The event is open to the public and an adult audience is recommended. Books are available for sale and there will be a signing after the reading.
"Sonic the Hedgehog 3" is the feature at the Bengal Theater in the Pond Student Union this Thursday through Saturday at 7 p.m., with a 4 p.m. show on Saturday also. Sonic and friends battle Shadow, a mysterious new enemy with powers unlike anything they've faced before. Admission is $3 for the public, $2 for ISU staff and children under 12, and free for ISU students with a valid Bengal ID.
The Idaho State Civic Symphony's New Music Ensemble will perform a free concert this Friday at 7:30 p.m. at the Purpose Center located at 224 N. Union Pacific Avenue in Old Town Pocatello. With Nell Flanders conducting, this informal concert of contemporary chamber music will feature ISU music faculty and members of the symphony. This is a free performance, so no tickets are necessary.
The Chrome in the Dome annual car and bike show is this Friday and Saturday at the ICCU Dome, beginning at 2 p.m. on Friday and 9 a.m. on Saturday. There is a $10 entry fee for adults, while kids 12 and under get in free. So bring the whole family for a day of fun with cool cars and bikes, as well as some good food to enjoy.
