POCATELLO — The Idaho Dance Arts will be hosting its annual Scholarship Show at Frazier Hall, E. Carter St. in Pocatello, on Feb. 21 at 6:30 p.m. This show has been running for over 30 years. Its main purpose is to help raise scholarships for area dancers to receive funding to attend the summer camp intensive. There will be various studios and teams from all over the region joining together to perform and offer a great night of dance and entertainment.
Last year, the summer intensive was moved from the College of Southern Idaho, where it was successful for over 40 years, to the Idaho State University campus and was hosted by the ISU dance team. This camp provides intensive training to students ages 12 and up. Students choose their schedules and take six hours of class per day in ballet, jazz, funk, tap, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, musical theater, improvisation, ballroom and point taught by professional dancers and dance instructors from all over the country. The faculty is hand-picked for their unique strengths, talents, knowledge and rapport with students to ensure each student achieves their highest potential.
