BLACKFOOT — Local law enforcement officials say they’ve arrested two people as part of an investigation into a New Year’s Day robbery and other recent business burglaries.

They took Olivia Yokoyama, 26, of Fort Hall, into custody on three charges of burglary as well as charges of principal to robbery and principal to aggravated battery, according to a news release from the Blackfoot Police Department.

Authorities also arrested Samir B. Afraid of Bear, 26, of Blackfoot, on two charges of burglary as well as charges of robbery and aggravated battery. Their bail has been set at $50,000 and $75,000, respectively.

The Blackfoot Police Department/Bingham County Sheriff’s Office combined detective unit investigated the crimes, including the robbery that occurred at the Short Stop, located on the 900 block of South Broadway, on Jan. 1, according to the news release.

They believe others may have been involved in the crimes and are asking anyone with information to contact Detective Wes Wheatley at 208-782-3085.
