Idaho State offensive lineman Brian Fineanganofo was named a second-team Phil Steele FCS All-American, announced Jan. 3. Fineanganofo is the second ISU player to earn All-America honors this season. Wide receiver Mitch Gueller was named a third-team FCS All-American by HERO Sports in December.
Fineanganofo started six games during the 2018 season. The redshirt senior left tackle helped pave the way for the Bengals’ offense to rank 14th in the FCS in scoring (35.3 points per game) and rank sixth with 494.9 yards per game en route to a 6-5 record. Fineanganofo joins Skyler Phillips as ISU offensive linemen to earn All-America accolades the last two seasons.
Fineanganofo accepted an invitation to play in the NFL Players Association Collegiate Bowl later this month. The Collegiate Bowl is a postseason all-star game for NFL Draft-eligible college football players. Fineanganofo will hit the field Jan. 19 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
